Cast Iron: Offers excellent corrosion resistance and pressure resistance, adapting to complex farmland environments. It is relatively inexpensive and widely used in cost-sensitive irrigation systems. However, cast iron is relatively heavy, potentially requiring additional manpower and equipment for installation and transport.
Cast Steel: Compared to cast iron, cast steel has higher strength and can withstand higher pressure and impact. Cast steel pipeline pumps perform well in agricultural irrigation applications requiring high flow rates and high lift. It also has good corrosion resistance, offering some protection against chemicals in the soil and water.
Stainless Steel: Stainless steel boasts excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for almost any harsh farmland environment, unaffected by acids and alkalis in the soil. Its smooth surface also prevents bacterial and dirt growth, helping to maintain clean irrigation water. However, it is relatively expensive, resulting in higher initial costs.
Plastics: Common materials include polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE). Plastic inline pumps are lightweight, easy to install and carry, making them ideal for mobile irrigation or small-scale farmland irrigation systems. They also offer good corrosion resistance, able to withstand the erosion of some weak acids and alkalis. However, the relatively low strength of plastic materials may make them less suitable for high-pressure and high-flow-rate applications.
